·       Robert Langdon: A Harvard professor of symbology who is called to the Louvre Museum in Paris to examine the body of Jacques Saunière, the curator, who has been murdered in a bizarre fashion. Langdon is a kind and compassionate man who is determined to solve the mystery of Saunière's death and to protect the secrets he was hiding. He is also a bit of a loner who is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.

·       Sophie Neveu: A French police cryptologist who is assigned to assist Langdon in his investigation. She is a kind and compassionate woman who is determined to solve the mystery and to bring the killer to justice. She is also a bit of a maverick who is not afraid to bend the rules if she feels it is necessary.

·       Sir Leigh Teabing: A British historian and expert on the Priory of Sion, an ancient secret society. He is a charismatic and intelligent man who is determined to expose the truth about the Catholic Church and its role in hiding the Holy Grail. He is also a bit of a con artist who is not afraid to manipulate people to get what he wants.

·       Silas: A monk who is working for the Opus Dei, a conservative Catholic sect. He is a sadistic and cruel man who is determined to protect the secrets of the Church, even if it means killing. He is also a bit of a fanatic who is not afraid to use violence to achieve his goals.

·       Bishop Aringarosa: The leader of the Opus Dei. He is a ruthless and power-hungry man who is determined to protect the secrets of the Church, even if it means sacrificing his own men. He is also a bit of a hypocrite who does not practice what he preaches.

·       The Teacher: The mysterious figure who is pulling the strings behind the scenes. He is a powerful and intelligent man who is determined to expose the truth about the Catholic Church and its role in hiding the Holy Grail. He is also a bit of a puppet master who is not afraid to use people to achieve his goals.
