·       Blandine Watkins: The protagonist, a 17-year-old girl who has just aged out of the foster care system. She is a complex and contradictory character, who is both vulnerable and resilient. She is also fiercely independent and determined to make her own way in the world.

·       Jack: A 17-year-old boy who lives in the Rabbit Hutch, a run-down apartment building in Vacca Vale, Indiana. He is a kind and gentle soul, but he is also deeply troubled. He has a history of violence, and he is struggling to cope with the trauma of his past.

·       Malik: A 17-year-old boy who lives in the Rabbit Hutch. He is a charismatic and charming boy, but he is also manipulative and self-serving. He is determined to make it out of Vacca Vale, no matter what the cost.

·       Todd: A 17-year-old boy who lives in the Rabbit Hutch. He is a quiet and withdrawn boy, who is struggling to come to terms with his sexuality. He is also deeply insecure, and he is constantly comparing himself to others.

·       Joan Kowalski: A 40-year-old woman who works as a content moderator for an obituary website. She is a lonely and isolated woman, who is struggling to find her place in the world. She befriends Blandine, and they form a tentative friendship.

·       Moses Robert Blitz: The son of a recently-deceased television star who covers himself in glowstick paint and breaks into people's houses in his spare time. He is a troubled and unpredictable boy, but he also has a good heart.
