·       Marigold Anastas: A brilliant and mysterious psychology student who is also a scholarship recipient at the Boston Public Library. She is a bit of a loner who is not afraid to speak her mind. She is also a bit of a mystery to everyone, including herself.

·       Whit Metters: A bored and wealthy law student who is also a scholarship recipient at the Boston Public Library. He is a bit of a loner who is not afraid to take risks. He is also a bit of a mystery to everyone, including himself.

·       Leo Johnson: The head librarian at the Boston Public Library. He is a kind and compassionate man who is determined to make the library a welcoming place for everyone. He is also a bit of a mystery to everyone, including himself.

·       The Woman in the Library: A mysterious woman who is often seen at the Boston Public Library. She is never seen talking to anyone, and she always seems to be reading a different book. She is also a bit of a mystery to everyone, including herself.
