A good read if you’re interested in the “Baen Books” style of light, military-oriented science fiction adventure novels. In the year 1632 in northern Germany a reasonable person might conclude that things couldn't get much worse. There was no food. Disease was rampant. Things are OK in Grantville, West Virginia. The mines are working, the buck are plentiful (it's deer season). When the dust settles, freedom and Justice, American style, are introduced to the middle of The Thirty Years War.

Characters: 198. Amazon rating: 4 1/2 stars. Genre: Sci-Fi.
